Registered Social Worker / Registered Psychotherapist – Trauma & EMDR Therapist

This is a part-time independent contractor position with the opportunity to grow into a full-time caseload. The role is hybrid, based in Barrie, with flexibility for remote work.

As a Trauma & EMDR Therapist, you'll provide compassionate, trauma-informed psychotherapy while working within a supportive and collaborative clinical environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive client assessments.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide trauma-informed psychotherapy and counselling.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with a supportive clinical team.
  • Participate in consultation and contribute to a collaborative practice environment.


Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work or Psychology.
  • Full registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the mental health field.
  • Experience working with trauma, PTSD, and complex PTSD.
  • EMDRIA-approved EMDR Basic Training completed, currently in progress, or willingness to complete the training.
  • Ability to work independently while valuing collaboration and consultation.
  • Excellent clinical, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Availability to work a minimum of three shifts per week, including weekends.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience with any of the following is considered an asset:

  • Supporting diverse and marginalized populations.
  • Working with first responders.
  • Continued EMDR training, consultation, and certification.
